Explaining
Storyboard
Storyboard is another way to explore the possibility of narrative or to
train an appearance. Parents say that "a picture can explain a thousand
words" is very suitable for storyboarding.
In general, the making of films, comic books and animation, a script was

require Generally, the making of the film, comic books and animation, a script
was developed before the storyboard created. Lighting the story does not always
require a complete script to take advantage in the process of storyboarding. But
we must have stories and stories that have a strong concept. A good storyboard
can help us understand a story that is unusual or facilitate the development of
the original story.
A storyboard is a series of serial images, with or without words, which
tell a continuing story. Art and storyboard sheets are available at the store
art needs, but we can also create your own.
Simply drawing a series of
boxes in a horizontal writing paper. Give a little space under each box to the
words. We can make it directly with a pen or can also use the computer. Once we
have the example of the design, print or multiply a few sheets to be used. Now
we can start making the type of game with the storyboard below.
Game # 1 - Rehearsal Storyboard. The basis of this game is the story
storyboard that has been known previously, Mass Cinderella, Red Riding Hood
Girl, etc.
For the story into several sections that easily tell. Limit the words on
each panel to no more than two or three lines only. This requires regular
exercise. Do
this several times until we get a series of sequential segments suitable for
us. Next, find some suitable images, such as photos or artwork from newspapers
or magazines, use clip art or looking on the internet. Clip,
cut, paste, trace, copy and color are the basic techniques in creating
storyboards. People with more artistic ability can do this better but everyone
should try it yourself. Please
note that we can cut, copy and pasting using a collection of images gathered
from various sources and create a scene that helps explain the story.
Expand our storyboard on a poster board with tape and paste. Now we have
a set of storyboards which can be used to find our stories.
Game # 2 – Story building Storyboard. Use this type of storyboard to
create a new story. Clipping is the most important processes in this type of
game. Take time to gather the pictures. We have to clip the image of interest
to us. We'll find a pattern slowly emerged. Assign pictures into categories or
the same subject. We also did-clip words that draw from an ad. There are many
words that 'smart' in a magazine. Once we have a good collection, spread
clipping results in a table so that we can take and select it. The key to
success in this game is to allow the process of free association to guide our
choices. Use the sense of "what if
..." and play with the clipping. Organize and restructure them until
something appears in our imagination. If you still have doubts about the power
of this technique, try on a small child. Once we get the concept of our story,
we are able to clip, copy, and paste our pictures into a sheet and stuck to their
story on the poster board. We have completed a set of storyboards which can be
used to develop new story ideas for written and shown.
Game # 3 - Photo Storyboard. Use this storyboard to help connect personal
or family stories. We need black and white family photos or photos clean before
starting the journey this storyboard. Do not be too clear on the opening. We're
not going to get an accurate story sequence of photos of our vacation or family
reunion. Consider additional copy or cut from magazines or travel brochures,
make copies of family photographs of similar events, or simply cut something
from a magazine in accordance with our narrative. Once we get the block stories, tell stories
with their own words using the panel on the story sheet. Do this several times
until we feel comfortable with it. We can write a short narrative below each
panel if necessary. Now after we finish our story sheet, paste on poster board.
In making storyboards we can decide who appears in every scene and get a better
idea about how to proceed with the story and editing catches us. In making
storyboards we can decide who appears in every scene and get a better idea
about how to proceed with the story and editing catches us. We can also use a
Chart Storyboard Organizer to help us plan and create a storyboard:Explain
briefly part of the story we will tell. If possible, write the description with
the measures numbered.
The sketch we must comply with the description of the scene. We should
identify shooting, every camera movement and screen position. Pay attention to
transitions such as 'cut', 'fade', 'dissolve', and other details. We can make our storyboard more interesting by
taking a picture from a different angle. Several types of shooting angle:
Wide Shot: This is the name of the angle of the image taken from a
distance small character will appear. This type of shooting usually occurs at
the beginning of the game to make players aware of the place settings.
Long Shot: At this angle of the characters appear larger than Wide Shot.
Characters visible from head to toe in full but also a place settings are still
clearly visible.
Medium Shot: The character seen from below waist to head. At this angle
we can see the expression on the character even close enough to see what the
hand of the characters.
Close-up Shot: Shows only the heads of the characters. Suitable for
showing a clear expression of character.
High Camera Angle: This position will see the characters from the top.
This position makes the character seem like an important figure.
Low Camera Angle: This position will see the characters from the bottom.
This position makes the characters look great and strong.
Character Design
In the character creation there are a few tips that can be followed. A
character will be interesting if it meets the following criteria:
1. Character it wants
something to be achieved.
2. For achieve his
desire of the characters must struggle with various challenges. This can be a
body ownership, a relationship, a state of mind, etc..
How do we choose a conflict that will happen to the characters. There are
several methods for character selection problem that we will create:
1.Trait vs. trait: Destination characters are divided into two balanced
each other or disability makes him difficult to get what he wants. A simple
case could be "duty vs. survival" as we are faced with the problem of
saving the lives of prisoners with a bet. Other examples are "social
justice vs. law" as the story of Robin Hood.
2.Double-edged Sword: What makes the characters we make into a hero and
make him suffer. For example Superman should justify what is wrong even though
it is impossible to do and Lex Luthor had been waiting with a half-ton of
Kryptonite.
In making our character must also prepare a biography of the character.
Biographical background of the characters. Does he have family, friends, or a
secret that should not be known by others? Does he have a particular problem?
What is she like and hate? These questions can assist in making the character
biographies.
The formation of character in a game must meet the simple rules are:
"Give players time to recognize the characters before the main
problems started."
In the movie Rocky, the first scene begins when the credits began to walk
early. The scene went straight to the fight without knowing who the main
character and if Rocky should win or not. At the end of the story must be fought with
Rocky Apollo Creed is not related at all with the fight scene at the beginning
of the story.
Storyboard is a script that set forth in the form of drawings or sketches
are useful to better facilitate the shooting cameraman. This is an example
storyboard in video production.
